Special considerations and preparations must be taken into account before a ice rental rink can be installed. Every rental sector is crucial to the economic success of your project. We do not wish to discourage you but also not wish that you be unpleasantly surprised!
Choose the installation site carefully!
Is the site well frequented?
Is public transportation easily reached?
Are enough parking spaces available in the vicinity?
Can I receive the necessary permission from the city/community/officials?
Is the ground resilient enough (500kg/m2)?
Is the ground relatively flat?
Is the subsurface frost-proof?
Have water, gas or electrical mains been laid at the site?
The site must be truck accessible!
Can the melted water drain properly from the area?
Where can I store the shaved ice? Where can I let it melt?
The refrigeration units must have space with good ventilation.
The cable-run to the ice rink must be kept in mind.
Garage for the ice resurfacing machine if necessary.
Ask your energy provider if the required electrical capacity is available. A near-by hydrant for ice making is advantageous!
Who is able to unload and reload the truck? Ask your city or building companies!
An electrician must connect the refrigeration machines to the current. Helpers for installation as well as disassembly of the unit are required.
Are toilets available on site or can they be rented?
Are changing rooms with lockers needed?
What will be the entrance fees?
Tickets
Entrance control
Issuing and return of skates
Return control
Required deposit for rental
Who will resurface the ice?
A technical craftsman should be responsible for the ice.
Is the current public lighting sufficient or is additional lighting needed? Will a sound system for announcements and music also be needed? Don’t forget music fees!
Authorizations?
Catering services?
Is the rink safe from vandals?
Is a security team necessary?
